allpay Limited Wins Prestigious Royal Training Award for Team Leader Programme

allpay Limited is proud to announce that it has been honoured with the prestigious Princess Royal Training Award for its exceptional Team Leader Programme. This accolade, presented by City & Guilds, highlights the organisation’s outstanding commitment to learning and development.

The Princess Royal Training Awards, now in their ninth year, are renowned for recognising organisations that demonstrate an extraordinary dedication to training and development. With over 600 employers showing interest and 127 applying this year, allpay Limited is among the 52 selected recipients, which include a diverse range of SMEs, not-for-profit organisations, and multinational corporations.

About the Award-Winning Programme

In 2015, allpay embarked on a transformative journey within its production area, leading to the promotion of four internal employees to Team Leader roles. To support these new leaders and ensure a smooth transition, it launched the Team Leader Programme (TLP), a bespoke initiative developed by an in-house Learning and Development team.

The Team Leader Programme is designed to equip future leaders with essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel in their roles. This programme has been instrumental in nurturing talent and driving success across the organisation. It:

  • Focuses on key leadership skills such as communication, delegation, and team building.
  • Alleviates the burden on senior managers by strengthening line management support.
  • Embeds the core values of agility, collaboration, integrity, and curiosity into the learning experience.

Since its launch, the Team Leader Programme has achieved outstanding results:

  • All four initial participants have advanced to higher roles within the company.
  • The programme has improved retention rates and decreases the need for senior management intervention.
  • A total of 59 individuals have participated, demonstrating the programme’s relevance and effectiveness.

The Application Journey

The application process for the Princess Royal Training Awards is rigorous, involving an extensive online application, where the business detailed their programme and its impact, a virtual visit, where the Assessor Team conducted reviewed and discussed the programme in depth, and finally a recommendation to HRH The Princess Royal following the visit.

Looking Ahead

Kirstie Donnelly MBE, Chief Executive of City & Guilds, praised this year’s recipients for their innovation and commitment to addressing contemporary skills challenges with all winners invited to the awards ceremony in Autumn 2024.

“I’m absolutely delighted that the allpay team has been recognised in this way. A huge thank you goes to the Line Managers and learners who have achieved through our Team Leader Programme since it started in 2015. We look forward to welcoming new learners to the Team Leader Programme and the ongoing success of seeing our people develop their skills here at allpay,” says Mandy Knott, Learning & Development Manager.
